About
Góra Zborów (also Berkowa) is a rocky hill in the village of Kroczyce, Zawiercie County, protected as a nature reserve. It is part of the Eagles’ Nests Landscape Park and the Natura 2000 Ostoja Kroczycka site. Its limestone outcrops, with colourful names such as Dolna Baszta, Długa Grań and Wielki Młynarz, form one of the best-known climbing areas of the Jura.
In the western part of the hill is Jaskinia Głęboka — the only cave in the northern part of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland open to tourist visits, about 190 m long. You move around the reserve on foot, along marked trails.
Getting there
Let us be honest: Góra Zborów lies in the further, southern part of the Jura, near Kroczyce — well beyond the Olsztyn area. It is not a distance we suggest covering by bike from our base; it is best reached by car and explored on foot.
No mapped route of ours leads there — Zborów is better seen as a separate day if you are touring the wider Jura. The reserve is explored on foot anyway, and climbing takes place in designated spots.
If you are looking for a ride from Olsztyn, stay on our northern side of the Jura: Trop Wilka (24.7 km) and Dolina Szeptów (38.4 km) leave straight from the base. On both you ride alone by GPS; a helmet and lock are included.
