Sokole Góry by electric bike
Sokole Góry is a nature reserve of limestone outcrops and caves a few kilometres from our base. You ride around its edge — the reserve itself you explore on foot.
About
Sokole Góry is a nature reserve in the Polish Jura. It protects forested limestone hills, rock outcrops and caves. It is one of the wilder spots near Olsztyn.
The reserve is protected — movement is allowed on foot, along marked trails. Among the rocks on its edge is Skała Pielgrzym, a viewpoint over the ruins of Olsztyn Castle.
Note — nature reserve
!Sokole Góry is a forest nature reserve — do not ride a bike into it. Inside you move on foot, along marked trails, and riding in risks a fine. Our routes run along its edge; you enter the reserve on foot, leaving the bike by the road.
Riding around the reserve
Our easiest loop, Trop Wilka (24.7 km), is in effect a figure-of-eight around Sokole Góry, running along the reserve’s northern edge. Along the way you pass Skała Pielgrzym, a viewpoint over the Olsztyn Castle ruins.
The Dolina Szeptów route (38.4 km) skirts Sokole Góry from the south — the wildest part of that loop, on natural forest tracks.
Both routes leave the reserve where it belongs: behind a line you do not cross by bike. You ride alone by GPS; a helmet and lock are included.
