Mirów and Bobolice by electric bike
The castles of Mirów and Bobolice are two of the most recognisable Eagles’ Nests of the Jura, joined by a rocky ridge. They lie about 28 km from our base in Olsztyn.
About
Mirów and Bobolice are a pair of medieval strongholds on the Trail of the Eagles’ Nests, built in the mid-14th century under Casimir the Great on limestone outcrops. In the Niegowa municipality, they are joined by a rocky ridge under two kilometres long — one of the most photographed views in the whole Jura.
Bobolice Castle was thoroughly rebuilt between 2001 and 2011 and is open to visitors. The neighbouring Mirów Castle is still being rebuilt and remains a picturesque ruin; its inner courtyard can be visited at weekends.
Getting there by bike
Mirów and Bobolice lie about 28 km from our base — within e-bike range, but at the far edge of our area. Our mapped loop in that direction is in preparation; until it is published, watch the trails section, and ask at the base for a route towards the two castles.
Most guests treat the two castles as a separate, longer trip: some drive there and explore on foot, some plan a full-day ride through the Jurassic villages. The electric assist greatly shortens such a distance in feel.
If you prefer to start near the base, two of our loops are ready and run among the Eagles’ Nests around Olsztyn: Trop Wilka (24.7 km) and Dolina Szeptów (38.4 km). On each you ride alone by GPS; a helmet and lock are included.
